Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre is a premier multi-sport facility located in Leyton, East London, immediately adjacent to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. It is owned and operated by the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority, and forms a key part of the sporting legacy from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
In 2024, Prime Controls delivered a wireless lighting control solution to provide multiple light levels and individual control of:
Two world-class artificial hockey pitches – the pitches are within the main stadium that holds around 3,000 spectators and can expand to 15,000 for major international events.
Six outdoor tennis courts – which are available for public hire, coaching and organised play all year round.
We implemented a wireless lighting control system providing independent control of each pitch and tennis court.
For enhanced operational security, the system is managed via a PIN-protected touchscreen installed behind the reception desk. This ensures only authorised staff can adjust lighting settings.
The new system enables the Lee Valley team to offer multiple lighting levels across all outdoor facilities.
This extends usable hours and improves the site’s adaptability in varying weather and daylight conditions:
Main hockey pitch: 6 selectable non-zero lighting levels
Secondary hockey pitch: 5 selectable non-zero lighting levels
Six tennis courts: Dedicated match and training lighting levels
